The Amboseli National Park is under the Kenyan Wildlife Service management and all the entrance fees that are paid are known by the Kenyan wildlife management. Note that entrance fees paid at Amboseli are valid for only one day and you will be required to pay upon re-entry. • Accommodation inside the National Park

Accommodation found within the National park offers some of the best services to tourists especially those that want to have a luxurious safari to Amboseli. With the animals moving around the National Park, expect to see some animals while on your veranda or balcony. If you are looking at having a luxurious safari, then we suggest you try out the Ol Tukai, Elwana Tortilis and Amboseli Serena lodge among others. There are also basic facilities that you can use such as the public camps and these go for as low as $30 per person per night.

• Accommodation outside the Amboseli National Park

There are a variety of accommodation facilities that are found outside the National Park and these are categorized into three that is basic, mid-range, and luxurious accommodation facilities. You can choose from any of these depending on your budget. Some facilities c easily be found near the different gates of Amboseli and these are the Kimana gate, Namanga gate, Ermitto gate, and the Kitirua gate.

For proper planning, you need to book the accommodation months before you get in the country for your safari and this can easily be done through a tour operator. Payment for the rooms is also done via bank transfers because many of the lodges and hotels do not accept cash.

Amboseli National Park can easily be accessed by either road or air transport. If you are driving to Amboseli from Nairobi, the gate that you can easily use is the Meshananai gate and if you are driving from Mombasa, the Kimana gate is the best to use. There are also airstrips that you can use around Amboseli if you have chartered a private plane to the National Park. Using a plane is much easier and faster and the only downside is that it is expensive. Road transport, on the other hand, is more scenic, cheaper to use and the only downside of using road transport is that it will take you several hours to get there.

We do not recommend self-drives because you will be driving to a new place and might miss out on the best spots from where to watch the animals.
